TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE PLANNED FOR 

RAILROAD CROSSING MAINTENANCE 

CSX Railroad has scheduled the list of crossings below to be closed for repair. This will necessitate rerouting traffic to allow crews to complete the improvements safely. Signage will be in place marking detour routes. Please note the expected closing dates. Each crossing will be closed for 2 to 5 days depending on the type of maintenance they are set to receive. 

Please note that any/all dates are subject to change with or without notice due to many unforeseen circumstances that can occur once the work begins.

          Briggs Street                   Closing on/around 3/02/2026

          Southampton Street         Closing on/around 3/04/2026

          Greensville Avenue         Closing on/around 3/16/2026

          Hicksford Avenue           Closing on/around 3/16/2026

          East Atlantic Street          Closing on/around 3/16/2026

          Lowground Road             Closing on/around 3/16/2026

PRESS RELEASE 

Sewer Line Replacement 

Nichols Excavation is scheduled to start the replacement of Sewer Line on Laurel Street starting December Wednesday 11th. They will continue for approximately 180 days or until completion. They will start at End of Laurel Street at Laurel Woods and continue replacement up to Peachtree Street. Sewer from Peachtree Street to South Main has been replaced earlier. Replacement will be approximately 1,915 Ft of 8” Sewer line, 7 Manholes and Associated Service Connections. 

Proper Signage and Flagmen will be in place by Contractor as needed. 

Please note that all dates are subject to change with or without notice during the construction due to unforeseen circumstances that can occur once the work begins.
